Old folk’s party
Here we have a nice photograph taken at an old folk’s party. It’s obviously the
Institute, but we can’t put a date to it and we’ve only been able to name some of
the people shown.
One of our “expert identifiers” has suggested that it might have been the 100
th
birthday party of the lady (Mrs. M. Clarkson ?) seated in the middle of the front
row, but we can’t be certain.

About the “Group photographs project”
A number of group photographs have been contributed to our archive with very
little information attached to them. The aim of this project is to capture as much
detail as we can from those who might remember the events and people shown.
For this photograph, our team of “identifiers” included: Jill Ideson, Enga Preston,
Ruth Ward, Rosemary Hargreaves, and John Lofthouse.
